3 Days Toubkal Ascent Trek

Your 3-day Mt. Toubkal trek will start with a 09h00 AM pick-up from your Marrakech accommodation. Then, after a picturesque 90-minute drive towards the towering High Atlas Mountains, you will reach the quaint Berber village of Imlil (1740 m). There, you will meet your experienced trekking guide and muleteers, who will load your belongings on the back of some sturdy mules. They’ll also be more than happy to assist you in renting any hiking gear that you may need for the journey ahead.

As you leave Imlil Valley behind, your expedition will take you up to Tizi N Mzik pass (2489 m). This offers stunning panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the area and Azaden Valley. Next, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch Inside the Jeneper Forest before continuing along the Valley of Azzaden to Tamssoulte village (2250 m), where you’ll spend the night at a local hut.

Our journey today will take us to the Toubkal refuge, nestled at the base of the towering Toubkal Mount. We’ll first hike to Aguelzim Pass (3560 m) past Ighouliden waterfalls. Then, after enjoying a picnic lunch with stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains, we’ll continue on to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge, where we’ll spend the night.

Remember that the lodging at the refuge is very humble. But it has all of the essentials you might need. If conditions on Mount Toubkal allow, we often choose to camp at the refuge during summertime. Get some restful sleep tonight so you’ll be well-rested and prepared for tomorrow’s big adventure!

Today is the day you face the eminent summit of Toubkal Mount, the highest mountain in North Africa. We will take to the mountain early to avoid the midday heat and get a head start on our climb. The routes up to the summit can be challenging, depending on the season. But we know you can do it. You’re strong and capable, and our guides will be right there for you every step of the way.

When you finally make it to the summit of Toubkal (4167m), you will feel an incredible sense of accomplishment as you take in the stunning views of the Atlas Mountains range and Berber villages on one side and the Sahara desert on the other. The views from the top are truly incredible and make all of the challenges faced during your ascent worthwhile. We will spend some time enjoying the peacefulness of the summit before making our way back down to Imlil past the Toubkal refuge, where we will stop for lunch.

What an adventure today! Hiking 900m up early this morning, and then nearly 2,500m back down to Imlil. Your driver will be waiting to take you smoothly back to Marrakech – the end of this amazing 3-day Atlas Mountain trek.
