Itinerary

Day 1Casablanca - Rabat

Arrive at Casablanca airport and head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, after meeting with your driver. After checking into your hotel, visit the Medina in the afternoon. You will take a walk to Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of the late King Mohammed V, the esplanade of the Royal Palace, and the Kasbah of Loudaya.

Day 2Rabat - Asilah – Tangier

Drive to Asilah along the coastal road, a 14th-century Atlantic coast Portuguese fort. Next, visit the Kasbah, where you will have lunch at a local seafood restaurant. After lunch, continue to the city of Tangier. Visit Hercules caves and Cap Spartel, the meeting point of the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean Sea. After that, you will continue to Tangier Medina and walk its narrow and steep streets to visit the Mandoubia Gardens and the Grand Succo and check into your hotel.

Day 3Tangier - Tetouan – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, get ready to be amazed by the stunning views as you drive across the Rif Mountains. The diverse scenery of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea is truly breathtaking, and you’ll find something new and beautiful around every corner. Next, drive through the beautiful city of Tetouan and see some of its famous places. Following that, ride to Chefchaouen, a gorgeous town filled with beauty and little hidden places to explore. You will go on a guided tour of the city and enjoy its charming narrow streets with blue and white colors painted on every house, creating a marvelous picture. In the afternoon, enjoy the beauty of the city at leisure.

Day 4Chaouen - Volubilis - Meknes – Fes

Drive through the Rif Mountains towards the holy town of Moulay Driss. This sanctuary is one of Morocco’s most famous sacred sites. It hosts the mausoleum of Moulay Driss, the founder of Fes. After lunch, you will continue to the nearby archeological site of Volubilis, one of Morocco’s richest and most important world heritage sites. After that, you will visit Meknes and take a tour of the city to see its most famous places, including the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the city’s founder. After having explored Meknes, you will carry on to the city of Fes.

Day 5Exploring Fes

Visit the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. The city is known as the “Athens of Africa” due to its rich cultural and religious heritage. First, you’ll take a guided tour of the ancient imperial city, starting with a visit to the broad esplanade of the Royal Palace.

From there, you’ll continue on to Borj Sud for a stunning view of the walled city. Then you’ll delve deep into Medina–the UNESCO World Heritage Site–walking through narrow streets, charming bazaars, past madrassas, and hillside shrines. Finally, stop by Nejjarine square before heading back out of town!

Day 6Fes – Merzouga

After breakfast, drive all the way across the Middle Atlas Mountains and Ziz Valley to the Tfailalt region. This ride is a relatively long journey. Drive past fertile landscapes southeast of Fes towards Ifrane, a charming little town in the middle Atlas Mountains, and a famous ski resort in the winter and holiday destination in spring and summer, thanks to its cool weather. Continue to Azrou while witnessing the Barbary Macaques wandering in the famous cedar forests along the way.

After arriving at Midelt at noon, you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Next, drive past little Berber villages to Ziz Valley, where you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery of palm trees dotting vast valleys.

Arrive at Merzouga in the afternoon and enjoy a ride on your camel to your Morocco Sahara desert camp through the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi sand dunes and witness the sunset in an epic view of unending, far-stretching sand. At night, enjoy dinner under the star-lit sky while listening to the sound of Tam Tam drums played by your nomad hosts. Spend the night in your private tent.

Day 7Merzouga – Ouarzazate

Before breakfast, wake up early enough to climb the nearby dune and watch the sunrise. Then, ride your camels back to Merzouga center, where you will meet your driver. Today’s journey will start with a Visit to a fossils workshop in Rissani to learn how the locals dig for ammonites, Orthoceras, trilobites, and dinosaur teeth and how they process them for sale.

Continue southwest to the oasis of Tinghir to enjoy a walk next to the stream. You will then reach the breathtaking canyons of the Valley of Todra. Have lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to Dades valley through the road of 1001 Kasbahs. After arriving at Skoura oasis, carry on to the oasis of Skoura, where you will explore the local Kasbah of Amridil and learn about the Berber locals’ lifestyle, Kasbah’s architecture, and irrigation techniques. In the afternoon, arrive at Ouarzazate. Have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 8Ourrzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive to the Berber village of Ait Ben Haddou to visit UNESCO’s world heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Then, cross the river to visit the Kasbah, famous for hosting various Hollywood movies. Drive back to Marrakech across the High Atlas Mountains and by Tizi Ntichka pass. Have the rest of the day for yourself to spend at leisure.

Day 9Exploring Marrakech

After breakfast in your hotel or riad, go on a full-day guided tour of the Medina of Marrakech, its historical sites, souks, palaces, medina walls, and gardens. First, you will Visit the Koutoubia Mosque and its Minaret’s exterior premises; from here, carry on to the 600 years old Saadian tombs with their prestigious design.

Next, continue to the 19th-century Bahia palace, a standing example of exquisite Moroccan and Islamic architecture. Later, you will get to explore the Medina with its souks and narrow streets filled with Moroccan goodies, souvenirs to be had, and the myriad of spices filling the air with their odor.

You will then have lunch at a local restaurant. Following that, you will visit Madrassa Ben Youssef, a well-known old college of theology dating back to the 14th century. After that, you will enjoy a drive-through from Gueliz to Majorelle Gardens past the French colonial district on one of Marrakech’s famous horse-drawn carriages.

Day 10Marrakech

Have breakfast, and then choose what activities you would like to partake in:

  • Have the whole day or half of it free to yourself.
  • Take a Moroccan cooking class at La Maison Arabe and learn firsthand how to prepare Tagine, Pastilla, or Couscous. •
  • Enjoy a spa session at one of the riad’s oriental spas.
  • Go quad biking for half a day in the palm grove outside Marrakech.
  • Go shopping to get some Moroccan goods in the Souks.

Day 11Marrakech – Essaouira

Have breakfast at your hotel and then meet your driver, who will take you on a day trip to the coastal town of Essaouira. Then, cross the Houz planes to the village of Sidi Mokhtar, where you can witness goats effortlessly climbing Argan trees. When visiting a local oil processing cooperative, learn about how local ladies process oil. Enjoy a visit to Val d’Argan, a vineyard that produces quality red and white wine, and have a wine-tasting session if you are a wine lover.

Continue to Essaouira and meet your local guide, who will take you on a visit to the fishermen’s harbor, the citadels, and the old Medina.

Day 12Exploring Essaouira

Enjoy the day exploring the beautiful town of Essaouira.

Day 13Essaouira - Mazagan – Casablanca

Have breakfast and take the coastal road towards Safi while passing by various fishermen’s villages. Next, you will visit a local ceramics production factory in Safi, known for its ceramics production. Then, continue to Oualidia, famous for its oyster production.

You can have lunch and enjoy the beauty of its lagoon before heading to Eljadida. This is a UNESCO world heritage town and a Portuguese settlement with various interesting places to visit and see, such as bastions, water reservoirs, churches, and Jewish Mellahs. You can continue to Morocco’s largest city in the afternoon, Casablanca.

Day 14Exploring Casablanca

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in the world and a standing example of exquisite Moroccan and Islamic architecture. Go on a scenic drive along the coast and enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant. After that, you can spend the rest of the day freely. Finish the day by having a farewell dinner at the legendary Rick’s cafe.

Day 15Departure

After breakfast, head to the airport for your return flight.
