La Maison Arabe is a renowned culinary venue in Marrakech with a rich history dating back to 1946. That year, two ambitious French women were granted permission by the pasha Thami el Glaoui to open the city’s first restaurant for foreigners in the Medina. The pasha even provided a maid from his nearby palace to teach them about Moroccan cuisine. La Maison Arabe quickly became one of the leading Marrakech restaurants.
La Maison Arabe is known for its cooking workshops. They are open to in-house guests and all food lovers visiting Marrakech. Using modern, everyday kitchen equipment, you’ll learn step-by-step techniques and the secrets of authentic Moroccan cuisine from Dadas (traditional Moroccan cooks). When finished, you’ll enjoy a lunch of precious, original Moroccan recipes passed down from generation to generation.
