Marrakech Medina Tour
You will be picked up by your driver and guide around 09h30 AM. First, take a walk through the streets of Marrakech Medina and visit the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque. With its 70m tall minaret, the mosque is an unmistakable landmark to help you navigate the city. You can take a walk in the garden of the mosque, but unfortunately, accessing its interior is not allowed for non-Muslims. During your visit, your guide will provide you with a historical background of the place and more information on the religion of Islam in general.
Next, you will visit the Saadian Tombs, which hosts Sultan Ahmed El-Mansour’s tomb, which rests in a chamber made of Italian Carrara marble and pure gold. Following that, you will take a stroll in the historical Jewish quarter of Mellah before arriving at the gorgeous 19th century Bahia Palace, a standing example of prestigious Moroccan Islamic art. Then, you will carry on to the labyrinthine Medina streets and on to the theological college of Ben Youssef Madrasa.
You will then carry on to the UNESCO world heritage site for culture Jamaa El Fna. Its lopsided square is home to Halqa’s and various performances from jugglers, snake charmers, pop musicians, Henna artists, and much more. It is also rich with various Moroccan food to be tasted. We will drop you off at your hotel or riad (or any other location of your choice) and end your Marrakech guided tour.
