Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Ouarzazate - Zagora

Your 4-day Morocco desert tour from Marrakech starts with a winding drive through the Atlas Mountains to the Tizi N’Tichka Pass. From here, you’ll have stunning views of the surrounding scenery. We’ll make plenty of stops for photos along the way.

We’ll then arrive in Ouarzazate and visit Taourirte Kasbahs. After lunch (at your leisure), we’ll continue on to Zagora through Draa Valley. This great river has given life to a vast oasis at the foothills of the Anti-Atlas mountains. The Draa Valley has been home to Sahara desert nomads for many years. Along the way, you’ll see several palm groves and kasbahs dotting the landscape and fields of corn, barley, vegetables, and henna plantations. Dinner and overnight in Zagora

Day 2Zagora - Merzouga

Today, you’ll be driving southeast across the Anti Atlas Mountains’ volcanic peaks, past oases in the middle of nowhere. You’ll stop for lunch at the oasis of Alnif before going to Merzouga and then to Erg Chebbi, where your Sahara desert camp is located.

Upon arrival, you’ll switch to camels and enjoy an Erg Chebbi dunes camel trek to witness one of the most sought views on the planet: Erg Chebbi’s dramatic sunset over the color-changing sand dunes! Afterward, you’ll drive back to your camp and get ready for a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars while entertained by the local nomads playing their drums. Finally, take advantage of the clear sky stars constellation before you go to bed!

Day 3Merzouga - Tinghir Oasis - Dades Valley

After a delicious breakfast at your cozy desert camp, you’ll hop in the car for a drive along the 1001 Kasbahs. First, you’ll pass rivers, oases, and fortified Kasbahs on your way to Tinghir. Next, you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the oasis along the Todgha river bank to the Todrha canyons.

After a filling lunch, you’ll continue your drive along the Dades Valley. You’ll be treated to views of magnificent fortified Kasbahs and Berber Villages against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset in Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight at your Dads Valley hotel will top off a perfect day.

Day 4Dades Valley - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll begin the day by driving through the valley of roses. This region is rich in traditions, Berber culture, and roses. Women here run cooperatives that produce some of the finest rose water in Morocco, which is starting to become famous worldwide! Next, the tour will continue to the Skoura oasis, one of the largest fertile oases in the Sahara Desert region. Skoura is also home to Kasbah Amerhidil, one of Morocco’s famous kasbahs that still preserves its historical touch from its first established.

From here, continue to Kasbah Ait Ven Haddou. located in the high Atlas Mountains. The word “Kasbah” means “fortress”. Ait Ben Haddou was built in the 12th century and has been used as a filming location for many movies, such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.

Finally, this 4-day desert trip ends, with a drive back to Marrakech via Tizi Ntichka pass. Once you arrive in the red city, your driver will drop you off at your hotel, riad, or any other destination of your choice.
