Your driver will pick you up at your hotel or riad for an early morning drive to Casablanca ( 07:00 AM ). Enjoy a comfortable 3-hour ride via the motorway crossing the fertile Gharb plains. You’ll stop halfway at a rest area before continuing to Casablanca. Upon arrival in the metropolitan city, meet your local guide, who will join you in the vehicle and start your tour of Casablanca. First, you’ll head to the legendary Hassan II Mosque. As you approach, you’ll see its majestic 210-meter-tall minaret dominating the sky. The mosque was designed by a French architect and took six years to build. It blends Islamic architecture with Moroccan elements.
From here, we continue to Ain Diab, home to the Corniche of Casablanca, a famed seaside promenade dotted with trendy clubs, restaurants, cafes, and hotels. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the waterfront, perhaps stopping for a cup of mint tea or coffee at one of the cafes. Your next stop will be in the Medina of Casablanca. Although not as old as Marrakech or Fes Medinas, a large part of it remains residential, with its narrow streets. You’ll continue on to Casablanca city center to visit the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, built in the 1930s by French colonials. Afterward, you’ll head to United Nations Place, where you can see art deco buildings lining both sides of the street. Then it’s on to Arab League Square and The Palais de Justice – if time permits, you may wish to have lunch at Rick’s Café – made famous by the film classic ‘Casablanca’; just let us know when making your booking so we can reserve a table for you.
After exploring Casablanca, take the scenic route back to Marrakech. The 3-hour drive will be a relaxing end to your full-day trip. Your hotel or the nearest car-accessible point to your riad will be your final destination.
The drive from Marrakech to Casablanca is a journey of 220 kilometers (137 miles). The trip takes between 2 hours and a half to 3 hours, depending on your Casablanca drop-off point. The best route is via the motorway ( A7 ).
