Many hikers believe that the scenery here is even more beautiful than you would find elsewhere. With its extensive terracing, broad green valleys pierced by irrigation canals, areas of walnut copses, and strange rock formations and colors, it’s easy to see why. And then there’s the bonus of Mgoun Peak towering over everything at just over 4000 meters tall. That’s only slightly less than Toubkal itself! All in all, it makes for a fascinating mountain to climb. Instead of endless scree fields, the ‘Alpine start’ takes you to a high roller coaster ridge. From there, you can follow above and past a vast cirque (corrie) until you reach the summit. We have watched Lammergeiers land on this high point in previous years!
